FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 4, 2025) – Officials with a Lakeshore community have a lot to crow about right now.
Two weeks ago, the city of Fennville and its Downtown Development Authority announced new partnerships with Jubilee Ministries and Allen Edwin Homes to construct middle townhome-style housing along West Fennville Street. Jubilee will build eight units – six two-bedroom and two three-bedroom structures – on four tenths of an acre, while Allen Edwin is putting up six three-bedroom homes on nearly the same size of land. All of Jubilee’s buildings, as well as half of Allen Edwin’s, will be for residents earning between 80 percent and 120 percent of the area median income, as defined by the state.
Fennville has also been awarded a Redevelopment Ready Communities certification from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, one of 87 such entities that are seen as “thoroughly prepared” in planning and zoning efforts to eliminate traditional barriers, while fostering opportunities for potential investment. Holland, Zeeland, Hudsonville, Grand Haven, Allegan and Plainwell are also in this group from the Lakeshore.
Finally, Fennville’s annual Holiday Celebration kicks off on Friday evening with a 6 PM Electric Light Parade through downtown, with numerous other activities slated through Saturday afternoon. An online link to the schedule is here.
