PLAINWELL, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 5, 2025) – It is one thing to have empathy for those who are disadvantaged, but another to experience it first hand.
That’s the focus of a Poverty Education Workshop set for next Thursday, November 13th, at the Christian Neighbors Education Resource Center in Plainwell (282 12th Street). A joint effort between the non-profit and the Allegan County Community Foundation, it’s designed to help participants better understand the day-to-day realities and challenges faced by individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet.
Stephanie Calhoun, President and CEO of the ACCF, opened this up to the public after initially intending the workshop to be part of the foundation’s Leadership Program.
This Poverty Education Workshop is free, but space is limited, and registration ends this Thursday (Nov. 6) through this link.
