GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 23, 2025) – A 40-year-old Holland woman will be sentenced after the first of the year after entering a guilty plea in the death of her 17-year-old son.
Katie Austin Lee admitted to one count of second-degree murder, along with charges of resisting/obstructing and torture, during a hearing on Wednesday in 20th Circuit Court. She was arrested on February 21st at the Bay Point Apartments complex after apparently killing Austin Pikaart and threatening responding officers with a knife.
Judge Jon Hulsing said that the plea agreement between Lee and prosecutors included a minimum prison sentence of 60 years, and has scheduled a January 19th date for handing down a sentence.
