ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A two-vehicle crash in Allendale on Friday evening injured a 39-year-old Grand Rapids woman.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, first responders were dispatched to Lake Michigan Drive west of 64th Avenue around 7:12 PM on a report of that one of the two vehicles involved had rolled over, and that its occupants had been trapped inside. “Our investigation at the scene determined that a red Jeep Grand Cherokee had pulled onto Lake Michigan Drive from the Life Stream Church parking lot,” the sergeant said in a department statement. “This vehicle pulled into the path of a black Ford pickup, and the collision caused the pickup to roll, with its front seat passenger trapped inside.”
The trapped passenger was extracted by rescue workers and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Hallmayer didn’t say if the woman had to be taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Neither driver – a 29-year-old Allendale woman in the Jeep and a 49-year-old Grand Rapids man in the pickup – was hurt. In addition, four children in the Jeep, ranging in age from 10 months old to 11 years old, as well as a 10-year-old and a 20-year-old in the pickup, were all “properly restrained and did not have any injuries,” Hallmayer said.
The crash remains under investigation.
