Gladys Mae Heyboer, age 89, of Zeeland, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on June 28, 1936, in North Blendon, MI, Gladys was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose life was beautifully marked by her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
A longtime member of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church, Gladys dedicated her life to prayer, service, and sharing the love of Christ with all those she encountered. Her warmth and kindness were felt throughout her community, where she was known for her remarkable gift of knitting. She created countless blankets, and keepsakes, each one a cherished reminder of her devotion and care for her family and friends. As an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Gladys loved to watch and discuss baseball.
Beyond her craft, she quietly and consistently demonstrated the fruits of the Spirit-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control-leaving a lasting example for her family and community.
Gladys is survived by her children: Gayle & Ken Morse, Brenda & Michael Beyer, Gregory & Deborah Heyboer, Kimberly & Richard Vos, and Jeffrey & Karen Heyboer; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as in-laws Preston & Alma Heyboer and Donna Canales.
Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Heyboer in 2022, as well as by her siblings and their spouses.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church, 4055 112th Ave, Holland, MI 49424. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, September 22 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland, MI 49464. Memorial contributions may be given to Zeeland Christian Schools or Corewell Hospice.
