TALLMADGE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 9, 2025) – A 25-year-old Coopersville man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash late Friday evening in the Lamont area.
No name was disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Shane Ryke in the incident that occurred shortly after 11:30 PM on Leonard Street near Odawa Trail. A homeowner called Central Dispatch, reporting hearing a vehicle driving at high speed race past the residence before crashing.
When first responders arrived, they spotted a mini car off of the roadway, several hundred feet into the trees, with the motorist pinned inside. After rescuers extricated him, efforts to revive the driver at the scene were unsuccessful. No other vehicles were involved.
The incident remains under investigation.
