UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 25, 2025) – While the Ottawa County Fair winds down on Saturday, two other annual Lakeshore events are just getting started.
Grand Haven will reinforce its label as “Coast Guard City USA” with its 10-day Coast Guard Festival, which begins on Friday. The Stitched Stories Quilt Show is inside Second Christian Reformed Church (2021 Sheldon Rd.) during the day, and the Mega 80’s concert at Waterfront Stadium is held in the evening.
Meanwhile, it’s Christmas in July – the theme for Saugatuck’s two-day Venetian Fest. A Friday night concert by 80’s cover band StarFarm is in Coghlin Park, followed by Saturday activities including a Duck Dash in downtown Douglas, the Dinghy Poker Run along the Kalamazoo River and Lake Kalamazoo, the Lighted Boat Parade, and Fireworks over Kalamazoo Lake.
