Juan “John” Silva, age 77, of Holland, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020. He was born to Enrique and Sebera Silva on February 11, 1943 in Weslaco, Texas.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. John and his wife Irma had a love for people and music. Together, they had a music ministry where they would visit families and lead music. John would visit often, playing music and praying with his dear sister, Lucille Rocha. Aside from playing guitar, Juan also made and handcrafted them. He truly enjoyed working with wood and his hands. Mr. Silva loved to hunt and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed shooting sports and took pleasure in being outdoors, which he passed on to his children. Mr. Silva was a hard working man that loved the Lord. He had a great sense of humor and was a faithful provider to his family. Juan was also a long time member of First Assembly of God in Holland. He was loved by all that knew him and will truly be missed.
Mr. Silva is survived by his loving wife, Irma Silva; sons, Robert E. (Grace) Silva, John P. (Sheryl) Silva, Michael (Michelle) Silva, David (Shelly) Silva; grandchildren, Bennett Silva, Andrew Silva, Madison Silva, Riley Silva, Aiden Silva, Marcus D. Silva and Maxwell J. Silva. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David M. Silva.
The family will receive visitors on Monday November 30, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland, MI. A graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday December 1, at 1:00pm, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 994 Paw Paw Drive, Holland.
