A historic season for the Hope College women’s lacrosse team will include eight All-MIAA selections.
The Flying Dutch became the first team in league history to three-peat behind performances from six All-MIAA First Team recipients and two All-MIAA Second Team honorees.
Seniors Kerrigan Brown, Juli Kirkpatrick and Mia Skibins, and juniors Julia Brown, Caroline Curnutt and Caleigh Randall all made the All-MIAA First Team. Junior Sydney LaPrairie and sophomore Stella Bottum all earned All-MIAA Second Team distinction.
Hope went 7-0 in MIAA games this season and finished with a league-best plus-12.7 scoring margin.
Julia Brown (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Central HS) claimed All-MIAA First Team honors for the third time as an attacker.
The sociology major (criminal justice and psychology) tied for third in the MIAA with 22 goals in seven league games and ranked 22nd with six assists.
Kerrigan Brown (DeWitt, Michigan / DeWitt) is All-MIAA for the first time as an attacker.
The exercise science major topped the league in assists with 19 in seven league games and tied for 23rd in goals with 10.
Curnutt (Fishers, Indiana / Heritage Christian) earned All-MIAA accolades for the third time on defense and as a first-team selection for the second consecutive season.
The elementary education major recorded six ground balls and three caused turnovers in seven league games, helping a defense that allowed a league-low 48 goals. Curnutt ranked fifth in the MIAA in draw control wins with 35.
Kirkpatrick (Granger, Indiana / Penn) achieved All-MIAA distinction for the third time as an attacker and All-MIAA First Team recognition for the first time after making the All-MIAA Second Team as a junior and sophomore.
The psychology major tied for ninth in the league in goals with 18 in seven games while notching seven assists.
Randall (Lansing, Michigan / DeWitt) claimed All-MIAA First Team honors for the third consecutive season as a midfielder.
The elementary education major tied for 18th in the MIAA with 14 goals scored in seven league games while notching two assists. Randall ranked fourth in the MIAA with 37 draw control wins.
Skibins (Granger, Indiana / Penn) made the All-MIAA First Team for the second consecutive season on defense.
The nursing major contributed to Hope’s stifling defense against league opponents while collecting 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Bottum (Alto, Michigan / Caledonia) achieved All-MIAA distinction for the first time after a breakthrough season as a midfielder.
The exercise science major tied for ninth in the MIAA in goals with 18 in seven league games while totaling four assists. Bottum ranked fourth with 17 caused turnovers.
LaPrairie (Rochester, Michigan / Stoney Creek) is All-MIAA for the first time as a midfielder.
The nursing major tied for 18th in the MIAA in goals with 14 in seven league games and tied for 12th in assists with eight.
