DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers have placed utility player Brandon Dixon on release waivers.
The move will allow Dixon to play for a team in Japan next season. He was claimed off waivers by Detroit from Cincinnati in November 2018 and led the Tigers with 15 home runs in 2019.
Dixon appeared in only five games during 2020 and spent most of the season at the team’s alternate training site in Toledo.
