TALLMADGE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 29, 2025) – Three persons were injured after a sedan smashed into a tree near Marne overnight on Saturday.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes following the 1:40 AM incident off of Leonard Street near Mill Street. Deputies believe that the westbound vehicle left the roadway and hit the tree, but didn’t go into the circumstances that led to the incident.
The driver of the sedan, a 37-year-old Marne man, was taken to an unnamed “Grand Rapids area hospital” for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. His two passengers, a 24-year-old Grand Rapids man and a 21-year-old Walker woman, sought their own assistance with minor ailments.
The incident remains under investigation.
