Inquiries Made on Gateway Spoon Site

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 26, 2025) – Could the Gateway Spoon become a Phoenix, rising from the ashes of its closure earlier this month?

Gateway Mission officials had pressed the “pause” button on the eatery off of East 24th Street and US-31 for a variety of reasons, ending a nearly 18-month operational relationship with Creative Dining Services, which included training culinary arts students in the Mission’s program.

Since the doors were closed 10 days ago, according to Mission Community Relations Specialist Jason Parks, several entities have inquired about the property.

That would include continuing what the Mission and Creative Dining had been doing with its training efforts.

Gateway Mission is currently working on renovating the former Davenport University building off of Waverly Road into a new men’s center, set for a fall opening.
