Gloria Van Vels age 74, of Hamilton, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Dan in 2010. Gloria was born in North Blendon to Henry and Gertrude Arendsen. She was a member of Haven Reformed Church, and she worked as a secretary at Weber Brothers and White Metal Works for many years. Gloria fought cancer since 1980 and never for a minute gave up her battle.
She is survived by her children, Jodi and Mike Elhart, Mike and Mary Van Vels, her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Richard and Alyse Van Vels (Evelynn Grace, Arya Faye, Caleb Jay), Chris and Coral Elhart (Addison Jean, Mason Lee), Mitchell Elhart and Morghan Van Dyke, Jonathon Elhart and Aliece Bradley, Crystal Van Vels, (Aailyah Marie, Daniel James, Benjamin Lee), Mikey Van Vels and Amber Sloan (Jaxon Michael, Emma Ray, Hannah Elizabeth) Mileah Van Vels (Michael Alexander) brothers and sister, Alvin Arendsen, Pearl Minnema, Larry and Sandie Arendsen, Roger and Hazel Arendsen, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda Creekmore of Holland, Randy and Gail Van Vels of Holland, Brian Van Vels.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland. Her funeral service will be 11 am Monday, March 17, 2025, at Haven Reformed Church. Interment will be in Overisel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland
