George Ismael Garcia, age 86, of Holland, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
George was born in Laredo, TX to Luis and Guadalupe Garcia. He retired from BLD Products where he was purchasing manager. George was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and served in the United States Air Force.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances; children, Lisa and Steve Veele and Dina and Patrick Cunnington; grandchildren, Patrick Cunnington II and Amelia Cunnington; siblings, Arthur and Piedad Garcia, Thelma and Michael Castenda, Edward and Nilda Garcia, and Robert Garcia; in-laws, Eva and Guadalupe Martinez, Viola Valderas, and Ayda Duran; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A funeral mass with military honors will be 11 am Saturday (March 8) at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Avenue, with Father Michael Burt officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visiting will be 10-10:45, prior to the service, at the church.
Memorial may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
Have know George back in the days when we were neighbors on Eighth Street back in 1957. This man always had a smile on his face. We share a lot of good memories. I remember when he met this wife Frances, which also lived on the same street, they lived next door to each other. Through the year I have many fond memories of George.
Rest in peace my dear friend. We will meet up some day very soon. Love you George.
