PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 22, 2025) – A 64-year-old Holland man lost his life after a single-vehicle crash north of Holland on Saturday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Shane Ryke, a westbound vehicle on Riley Street near Timberpine Avenue, between 144th and 156th avenues, veered off of the roadway around 5 PM, struck several utility poles, and overturned. Rescue workers extricated the single motorist from the vehicle and transported him to Holland Hospital, where he expired from his injuries. It took several hours for crews to restore power in the area due to the downed power lines.
Ryke didn’t disclosed the name of the driver, nor give any immediate determination as to what led the vehicle to lose control and crash, as the incident remains under investigation.
