HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 20, 2025) – The “new look” main branch of the Herrick District Library is ready for its close up.
From 7-8 PM on Thursday, the library at 300 S. River Ave., off of West 12th Street, will hold a “renovation celebration” to spotlight changes made to the over 60-year-old facility that hadn’t had a facelift for over two decades, according to Library Public Relations Manager Sara DeVries.
DeVries noted that the $5.7 million price tag for the project came through reserves in the operating budget and not through any bonds or millage increases. There was a similar, $4 million renovation of the North Branch off of Riley Street on Holland’s North Side five years ago.
The hour-long free celebration will include sweet treats, balloon animals, live jazz, a photo booth and more.
