HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 7, 2025) – A 71-year-old Hudsonville man is expected to recover after being hit by a pickup truck in his hometown on Friday night.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Shane Ryke as first responders were dispatched to 32nd Avenue near New Holland Street around 7:15 PM. That was where the pedestrian, attempting to cross the street but not at a crosswalk nearby, was struck by the pickup, driven by a 59-year-old Hudsonville man, that had just turned onto the roadway and couldn’t see the older man.
The pedestrian was taken to U-M Health West for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while the motorist was unhurt. The matter remains under investigation.
