HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 6, 2025) – Some additions to what will be the newest crown jewel in Holland were approved by the Holland City Council on Wednesday night.
Deputy City Manager Matt Van Dyken, who is overseeing the $11 million construction of the ice park at the Window on the Waterfront complex off of East 6th Street and College Avenue, asked the governing panel to allocate $164,000 for additional terracing at the performance area, as well as adding some overhead doors at the pavilion. He explained that work on the project has gone well, both in the construction timeline for a winter 2025-26 opening, as well as keeping the costs under budget.
Mayor Nathan Bocks and his council colleagues voted unanimously for this additional allocation.
The city has a permanent web cam placed on the ice park project for those who wish to see the construction work for themselves. A link to this and other city views is here.
