ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 3, 2025) – There may be six more weeks of winter after Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow in Pennsylvania on Sunday, but the pothole season may be already underway.
Last week, the New York City Department of Transportation Commissioner filled its half-a-millionth pothole in Brooklyn. Allegan County Road Commission Managing Director Craig Atwood isn’t counting how many potholes his crews have filled, but he did say that work on this annual scourge for motorists took place last week, and on his department’s website is a graphic explanation from the County Road Association of Michigan of what a pothole is and how it is formed.
