Scott was born on October 28, 1969. He grew up in West Michigan and attended Holland High School. Throughout the years, Scott spent time in the hospitality industry, most fond for him was his time at Bill Knapp’s in Holland. He then worked at The Edge Ice Arena for many years and was known for keeping the rowdy hockey crowd in line. Most recently, he has been an integral part of the Dutch Village team, leading their maintenance team. He loved using his imagination and building skills to create a beautiful place for visitors to create lasting memories.
Scott was extremely dedicated to his family and friends, known for stepping in whenever needed to help someone rebuild their deck, fix a flat tire, or pull a float in a parade in the middle of December. He cared deeply for those he loved and, although he could have a rough and tough persona, was soft and caring when it was most needed. In the last few years, he enjoyed getting into running and completed over a dozen 5K’s with his friends and countless morning walks with his wife. Scott loved spending time with his family and enjoyed visiting his siblings at their property in Baldwin.
