ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 18, 2024) – After a dozen years on the Allegan County Board of Commissioners, Jim Storey is looking back and looking ahead.
The Holland Republican, who withdrew his name from the GOP primary ballot on an apparent snafu with the Michigan Secretary of State’s office involving a past campaign, and then failed to secure his party’s nomination through a write in effort, wielded the gavel for the last time a week ago.
Pastor Craig Van Beek of Salem Township will replace Storey on the Allegan County Board, while Storey assumes the interim manager’s post with the West Michigan Regional Airport. He will still be involved in Allegan County government as part of the county’s Local Emergency Planning Committee, the regional Oversight Policy Board, and the Commission on Aging.
