Judith Anne Koberna of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024. Judy was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on July 2, 1944. She was the oldest of the 13 children in her family.
She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, nurse, and community volunteer; she was loved dearly by family and friends. Judy was a Licensed Practical Nurse who received her education from Marymount Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio in 1963.
She was preceded in death by her parents John E. and Ruth H. O’Malley, brother Dan O’Malley, and sisters Patricia (O’Malley) Summers, and Maureen (O’Malley) Ross, and daughter Laura (Koberna) Howell.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (MaryBeth) Koberna, and four grandchildren, Lindsay Koberna, Cameron Koberna, Lila Howell, and Teagan Howell. She also is survived by siblings Kathy (Danny) McQuain, Fran (Tom) Hockran, Jane (Al) Petrus, Tom (Tori) O’Malley, Mike (Kathy) O’Malley, Bill (Buffy) O’Malley, Ruthy (Oscar) Cisneros, John (Michelle) O’Malley and David (Kathy) O’Malley, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
At Judy’s request, final services are private.
Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel.
