Delores (Jean) Vander Zwaag (VanWieren), age 83, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, after a four-year journey of Dementia.
Jean was raised in the family businesses including VanWieren Hardware Store and was also a beautician. She was a faithful follower of Jesus, her Savior and Lord, and was active in her church. Her family became her priority and through many experiences together, her children, grandchildren, and most recently, her amazing great-grandchildren knew it because of the time they spent sharing life together. She loved the outdoors, traveling with her husband and family, square dancing, and hosting family celebrations. The fond memories the family has of her will not be forgotten. She was loved and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by a baby boy at birth.
She is survived by her husband, Norm Vander Zwaag; children, Jodi and Gary Tucker, Russ and Nancy Vander Zwaag, Steve and Lisa Vander Zwaag, Dan and Katy Vander Zwaag; grandchildren, Andrew and Jena Tucker (Jackson, Caleb), Ben and Mande Tucker (Sawyer, Eden), Katelyn and Neil Droppers (Charlie, Savannah, Brooklyn, Wesley), Kelsey and Luke Ambrose (Emmory), Ellyn Vander Zwaag (fiance’, Louis Placido), Matthew Vander Zwaag, Cory and Cassie Vander Zwaag (Vera), Marissa and Tyler Alvarez, Nolan and Jordyn Vander Zwaag; sisters-in-law, Geneva VanWieren, Ilah VanWieren, and Arlene and Larry Nienhuis.
Visitation with the family is 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral services are at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 West Lakewood Blvd. Holland, MI 49424.
Burial to take place in Lakewood Cemetery.
