HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 8, 2024) – An annual tradition at the first of the year in Holland is the awarding of the city’s Social Justice Awards.
Sponsored by the city’s Human Relations Commission for more than 25 years, it recognizes individuals and organizations that promote equal opportunity and access in various community needs such as housing, education, employment, government and community relations, health services, and accessibility. There are also a youth category for teens, with those winners determined by the Holland Youth Advisory Council.
Holland City Manager Keith Van Beek says that municipal government can only go so far.
Nominations will be accepted through December 9th, with awards presented during a City Council meeting in January. An online link to where applications can be submitted is here.
