OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 30, 2024) – Local numbers were good as the biannual National Drug Take Back Day was held this past Saturday.
On Tuesday, Ottawa County Sheriff Steve Kempker disclosed that, at the Corewell-Zeeland Hospital site that his department hosted, 155.4 pounds of unused and outdated medications were collected.
Another 203.6 pounds came from med drop boxes the Sheriff’s Department maintains year-round.
A Holland Hospital site hosted by Holland Department of Public Safety Police Services collected 194.4 pounds. Other figures, including that from the US Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Agency that sponsored the 27th renewal of National Drug Take Back Day, are pending.
