Faith was born on June 24, 1956, in Holland, Michigan. She was the youngest of Gerald and Esther Mae Vander Zwaag’s children. Faith and Harlen were childhood sweethearts and started dating in high school. They married in 1976 and shared 48 beautiful years together, raising three children and later welcoming four grandchildren. Faith adored her family and was forever thinking of ways to make their lives sweeter: baking, sending cards and care packages, enjoying celebratory meals, cheering on their accomplishments, and supporting them in countless ways.
Faith worked for Zeeland Vision for 45 years and was an active member of Georgetown Christian Reformed Church. She loved gardening, golfing, playing with her grandchildren, homemaking, and reading the Bible.
Faith was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Don Zwagerman.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Harlen; beloved children: Chad and Leah Wayner of Charlottesville, VA, Ross and Kricket Hoekstra of Ferndale, MI, Allison and Michael Spiekerman of Hudsonville; and precious grandchildren: Sophia Wayner, Evangeline Wayner, Alaynna Spiekerman, and Ethan Spiekerman. Also surviving are siblings: Barb and Bart Helmus, Arla and Terry Reimink, Jerry and Kathy Vander Zwaag, and John and Gloria Vander Zwaag, and her sister-in-law Laurie and Russ Boeve.
Visitation at Yntema Funeral Home in Zeeland will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, October 7, 2024. According to her wishes, a private graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hudsonville Christian School.
