ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Lions are placing linebacker Jarrad Davis on the COVID-19 reserve list.
The team did not specify whether he actually tested positive or was just in close contact with someone who has. Davis is the first Lions players to be on the COVID list since the start of training camp.
Denver Broncos Hall-of-Famer and general manager John Elway has tested positive for COVID-19. Team officials say both Elway and CEO Joe Ellis were diagnosed with the illness. Elway and Ellis have reported mild symptoms and are working from home.
The Lions are getting set for the first of their two meetings with the Vikings this season. The teams meet Sunday in Minnesota. The Lions lost 41-21 at home to the Colts this past Sunday to drop back below .500 at 3-and-4. The Vikings are last in the NFC North at 2-and-5.
