The Hope College football team cracked the Top 25 in the D3football.com rankings this week.
After receiving votes in the past four polls, the 4-0 Flying Dutchmen moved up to No. 23 after Saturday’s 34-13 victory at then nationally-ranked Alma College in the MIAA opener.
The D3football.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country. It is published weekly during the regular season. Points are awarded on a 25-24-23-22-etc. basis.
Hope finished with 93 points in the poll.
The Flying Dutchmen’s next game is Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. vs. Trine University at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium.
The Purple Community game will benefit Van Andel Institute’s groundbreaking research for cancer, Parkinson’s & other diseases and help fund internships for Hope students at VAI.

North Central College (Illinois) topped the poll with 616 points after receiving 17 of 25 possible first-place votes.
Defending national champion Cortland State (N.Y.) placed second with 608 points and received the other eight first-place votes.
