She was born on her parent’s farm in Zeeland on May 1, 1940 during a snowstorm.
She graduated from Zeeland High School in 1958 and worked at Van Den Bosch Feeds, Tuesday’s Child,
Kid’s Closet, and was a manager Janie’s Cookie Company in the West Shore Mall. She enjoyed spending winters in Zephyer Hills, Florida, traveling in their RV across North America, music, and watching her grandchildren play sports and perform at concerts and parades.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Willard Dykens; Her sons: Brent Dykens and Daniele Kruger Dykens, Brad and Jennifer Dykens; her grandchildren: Dan and Olivia Dykens, Adam Dykens, Drew and Elise Dykens, Emma Dykens and Stacey Dykens; her siblings: Alvin Ter Haar of Bradenton, Florida, Ruth Nieboer (David) and Helen Nagelkirk (Roger) of Zeeland, and sister-in-law Betty Ter Haar of Hudsonville.
Lois was preceded in death by her brother Harvey Ter Haar and her sister-in-law Sue Ter Haar.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM and the funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, MI 49424.
