Gerrit (Gary) Van Hill, age 99, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Carolyn in 2022; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gary and his wife were founders of Van Hill Furniture. Gary proudly served his county in the United States Navy during World War II. Gary volunteered with the Gideons International for many years, and he was a member of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children: Doug and Sally Van Hill, Deb and Ken Austhof, Kathy and Tom Timmer, Jeff and Sheila Van Hill, Evonne and John Byma, Barb and Vern Mol; 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Glenda Van Hill, Daisy Asplund, Joan Van Hill, Gerald Haveman, and Wilma VanOeveren.
Visitation with the family is 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464. Funeral services are at 11:00 am Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church, 4055 112th Ave. Holland, MI 49424. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery.
