Shirley M. Hop age 92, of Holland, went home to glory on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at an area care center.
She was a member of Messiah’s Independent Reformed Church where she was involved in the adult Bible Study.
Shirley was a faithful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Jay who died on August 13, 2024, a son Duane and siblings, Jarvis Zoet, Elmer Zoet, and Lois Schierbeek.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Daryl and Renee Hop (Tyler and Andrea Hop, Joshua and Jenna Hop, Amber and Eben Amankwah, Laura and Jordan Mast, Leah and Mike Vriezema); Ken and Mary Schreur (Kari and Mike Zwagerman, Jenna and Joel Riemersma, Benjamin and Sara Schreur); Mark and Jan Hop (Jamie Hop, Jolynn and Doug Patmos, Jill and Matt Nagelkirk, Jonathan and Abby Hop); and Loren and Linnea Hop (Rachel and Jake Vander Wall, Luke Hop, April Hop) and 28 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Norma Klingenberg, Wayne and Bev Hop, Ronald Hulst, Glenn and Kathy Hop; several nieces and nephews.
Shirley’s family would like to thank the staff at Appledorn South for their amazing love and compassionate care.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Messiah’s Independent Reformed Church, A4528 48th St, Holland with Rev. Breno Macedo officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Holland Christian Schools and Gateway Mission.
