LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 29, 2024) – A Holland woman has been named to a newly created Michigan Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.
Marianne Huff is the President/CEO of the Mental Health Association, and is a past Executive Director of Allegan County Community Mental Health Services. She will be representing those with experience doing clinical work specializing in suicide prevention for a four-year term.
Huff is one of 10 members named by Governor Whitmer to this blue-ribbon panel within the state Department of Health and Human Services. It was created earlier this year with identifying the root causes of gun violence, compiling and reporting relevant data, maximizing existing resources, soliciting perspectives from various stakeholders, and recommending policy. The Task Force will also include 10 ex-officio members from the state bureaucracy.
