DETROIT (WKZO AM/FM) – After a dismal abbreviated season in 2020, the Detroit Tigers have hired a new manager to improve their fortunes.
And with that announcement began musings that it might result in a return to the Motor City for a former icon.
AJ Hinch is the new skipper, complete with the controversy from the Astros’ cheating scandal, but also with an above-average track record…and a great relationship with Justin Verlander, who will miss all of next year after Tommy John surgery, but also becomes a free agent after 2021.
Verlander still has fond memories of his time in Detroit, so the chances that he may once again make an appearance in a Tigers’ uniform is intriguing…and an item in the Hot Stove league.
