Irene Gertrude Ter Haar aged 98, of Hudsonville, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Irene was born September 21, 1925, in Overisel to Mannes and Mabel (Koopman) Folkert. On March 11, 1949, she married Albert Ter Haar, Jr. The couple farmed at the family homestead in Forest Grove until their retirement when they moved to Hudsonville. Irene was an active member of the Forest Grove Reformed Church. Irene is remembered for her love of her family and her faith. She loved playing the piano, enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her daughters, and baking desserts – especially pies.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Albert, all nine of her siblings, and all her husband’s siblings.
She is survived by her children; Audrey Hayes, Brian Ter Haar, June (James) Farkas, and Laurel (Stephen) Wise; four grandchildren, Andrew Ter Haar, Chantel (Neal) Money, Haley Ter Haar, and Alexandra Ter Haar; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Money, Madeline Money, and Harper Harrison; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10-10:45 am Friday, August 9, 2024, at Forest Grove Reformed Church, 1630 32nd Ave, Hudsonville, with her funeral service to follow at 11 am. Pastor Doug Hoeve will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Forest Grove Reformed Church or the Gideons International.
