GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 5, 2024) – More information has been disclosed stemming from a Sunday afternoon incident at a home south of Grand Haven in which a 73-year-old woman was assaulted and her 38-year-old son died.
The names of the two have yet to be disclosed by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, but on Monday, Detective Sergeant Jeremy Baum did confirm the relationship between the two, and that both had knife wounds. Paramedics were able to treat the woman at the scene before she was taken to an unrevealed hospital in serious but stable condition. The man was found dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted knife wound.
An investigation into the incident continues, and anyone with any information is asked to contact Ottawa County Central Dispatch (800-249-0911) or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
