Mary A. Jacobson, 86, formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28th, 2024, in Zeeland, Michigan. She will be intered at the Clear Lake Cemetery in a private family gathering.
Mary was born in Mason City, Iowa, to John and Kristina (Glagala) Luchan on October 26th, 1937. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School in 1955 and received her nursing degree from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in 1958. She worked for Surgical Associates, which later became Mason City Clinic, from 1958 to 2003. During those 45 years Mary held many nursing and administrative positions. She was known as a person who could organize, prioritize, and get things done. Mary developed the first Coding Department for the clinic and then later took on the new role of Risk Manager. She also enjoyed being a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Mason City Clinic Paintathons, and One Vision’s Clear Lake Thrift Store.
Mary was an extremely independent and private person yet a loyal friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture, antiquing, volunteering, and had a unique eye for decorating her house with eclectic things that all worked beautifully together.
Her life was well lived and well loved. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Liz (Jim) Langill; grandchildren Mike (Kate Oeser) Langill and Jenn (Tom) Kikkert; great-grandchildren Mason Langill and Eleanor Kikkert; several nieces and nephews as well as extended family and countless friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John, Mike, and Chuck.
