FILLMORE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 30, 2024) – One person was killed and four others were injured when a sedan was broadsided by a pickup truck south of Holland on Sunday afternoon.
No names or other identifying descriptions were initially disclosed by Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kyle Baker as he and other first responders were dispatched to the intersections of 136th Avenue and 58th Street just after 1 PM. That was where the westbound sedan apparently drove through a stop sign and was hit by the northbound truck, who had the right of way on the two-way stop.
While the pickup driver was unhurt, the driver of the sedan died at the scene, and four other occupants of the sedan, including three minors, were transported to “area hospitals” for treatment of serious and life-threatening injuries.
No other details as to the circumstances that led to the collision were immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
