OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 28, 2024) – The Ottawa County Art Trust has expanded by eight pieces.
On Monday, the county and the Holland Area Arts Council purchased from 92 entries the creations that will become part of the permanent collection aimed at demonstrating the county’s commitment to culture, creativity and innovation. It raised the number collected since the trust’s inception in 2018 to 72 pieces from 46 different artists that are seen in halls, waiting areas and conference rooms of county offices.
Board Vice Chairwoman Sylvia Rhodea of Allendale has an artistry background and can appreciate these efforts.
Purchase Awards were given to:
- Jackie Beck – Eastern Blue Squirrel – Acrylic
- Lynne Boezaart – Autumn Observations, Hemlock Crossing – Oil
- Harminder Bopari – Dancing Girls – Metal & Wood
- Patricia Dee – Grassland – Pastel
- Mary Ann Dunn – Blue Green Croaker – Watercolor
- Jill Hamilton – Tunnel Breeze – Photography on Metal
- Kelly Lynch- West Fish Again – Acrylic
- LaVonne Marshall – Winter Shadows – Acrylic
All 92 entries this year will be on display in the Administration Building of the Fillmore Street Complex (12220 Fillmore St., West Olive) through September 6th.
