SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 21, 2024) – It was a long three days for Saugatuck’s Oval Beach to be off-limits.
On Friday, the Allegan County Health Department gave the all-clear for residents and visitors to reenter the waters of Lake Michigan off of that popular destination. The E. Coli level that had been far over the state’s maximum safe measure on Tuesday at greater than 2419.6 had fallen to 36.8, which was back to what it had been before an undisclosed runoff source spiked that level. Advisory signs have been lifted.
