Don was born on December 4, 1934 to Louis and Louise Van Huis in Holland, MI. Don met and married the love of his life Shirley DenUyl, where they spent the next 67 wonderful years. Don spent most of his life working in the Tool & Die department of Hart and Cooley Mfg. Co. He retired after 44 years. Don was a lifelong member of Central Park Reformed Church. Don will be deeply missed by all.
Don is survived by: his wife, Shirley Van Huis; children Karen (Dennis) Garvelink, Larry (Gabi) Van Huis, Wayne (Connie) Van Huis, and Ken Van Huis; 8 grandchildren, Kristina, Andrew, Rachael, Benjamin, Samuel, Janelle (James) Arens, Travis, and Nathan; Sister-in-law, Margaret Pyle.
Don was preceded in death by: his parents, Louis and Louise Van Huis; and brother, Robert Van Huis.
A memorial service will take place Thursday June 6, 2024 at Central Park Reformed Church, 614 Myrtle Ave. Holland, MI 49423 at 11 am. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service.
