Steven Poppema, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Steve worked for the last 6 years in maintenance at Transmatic. He was a compassionate, helpful, and adventurous man. Those close to him knew him as “The Go Guy” and entertained friends and family with his accomplished story telling skills. He was loved and will certainly be missed.
He is survived by his love, Lanena Autry; parents, Jim and Sandy Poppema; brother, Scott and Linda Poppema; brother, Timothy Poppema; nephew, Zachary (Mikayla Barker) Poppema; nephew, Tanner Poppema; niece, Olivia Poppema; Lanena’s children, Jermanie Grice, Jayla Autry, Jasean Newson, James Lee; and his black Labrador “Missy”.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at North Holland Reformed Church, 12050 New Holland, Holland, MI 49424 with Rev. Steven DeVries officiating.
A time of visitation will be available the same day beginning at 10:00-10:45 am also at the church.
Burial to take place in Olive Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Steve’s honor may be given to a charity of your choice.
