Mildred (Millie) Geneva Boes, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at her home in Zeeland, MI. Millie was born on August 11, 1935, to Lucas and Tillie DeKleine in Jamestown, MI. She married Harris Boes on January 13, 1956, in Zutphen, MI. He preceded her in death in 2014. They were married 58 years.
Millie retired from Johnson Controls (Prince Corporation). She spent many years camping at Sandy Pines Resort with family and friends. She also enjoyed every Tuesday night with her kids & grandchildren who would come home to celebrate occasions. She was still living in her house that they purchased back in 1956. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, for the last 5 years she enjoyed coloring with colored pencils. She has many beautiful colored pictures.
She was a member of Community Reformed Church in Zeeland.
Millie is survived by her daughters; Kathy (Gary) Mehrtens, Sheryl (Tom) Dykstra, Faith (Chad) Klungle, Mary (Steve) Jacobs, her daughters-in-law; Sally Boes & Sheri Boes; her grandchildren; Bill (Stephanie) Boes, Sam (Melody) Mehrtens, Joe Mehrtens, Anne (Mike) Ulanski, Heather (Niko) Moreno, Matt (fiancé’, Chloe Hussey), Kyle (Chelsea) Dykstra, Kelsey (Nathan) Docken, Emily Dykstra, Corey (Lauren) Klungle, Brandon Klungle, Amanda (Jonathan) Acker & Kelli (Steve) Steggerda,15 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
Also, she is survived by her sister, Harriet Boerman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, parent-in-laws: William and Gertrude Boes, sons; Wayne Boes & Calvin Boes; siblings; Nora (Wynard) DeKleine-Kloosterman, Edwin (Bernice) DeKleine, Dorothy (Nelson) Victory, bother in law, Jerald Boerman; and a granddaughter, Robin Boes.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 11am-12:45pm at Community Reformed Church, 10376 Felch Street, Zeeland, with the funeral service to follow at 1 pm. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Community Reformed Church Kids Hope USA.
