Bernard Dale Brunink, age 82 of Holland peacefully passed away with his loved ones surrounding him Thursday, May 16, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty; his children: Amy and Craig Wierenga, and Shannon and Dawn Brunink; his grandchildren: Grace Brunink, and Jake Brunink; his siblings: Delores and Jerry Kraai, Gladys Ponstein, Jerry and Janna Brunink, and Marcia Brunink; his sisters-in-law: Marilyn and Rog Lindemulder, and Lois Vander Zwaag.
A man who influenced those around him with his humility, loyalty and love, Bern enjoyed spending time with his loved ones at his weekly breakfasts, being outdoors golfing, fishing, and hunting and creating a magazine-worthy backyard with Betty, his wife and best friend. Bern gave his time as both an elder and deacon at his church and served his country in the United States Army. He also worked as a supervisor in his nearly 35 years at LifeSavers.
Visitation will be from 1-4 pm Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The memorial service to honor Bernard will be 11 am Monday, May 20, 2024, also at the funeral home.
