HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 15, 2024) – Visitors to the Lakeshore saw one side of Holland during the just-completed Tulip Time Festival. Another side goes on display on Wednesday afternoon.
The Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Community Impact Day will see more than a thousand volunteers fan out to tackle service opportunities from more than 50 non-profit organizations over a three-hour period. In 2023, 950-plus volunteers provided services worth at least $226,000 in value.
It’s similar to the Day of Caring, staged annually in September by the United Way of Ottawa and Allegan Counties, and the Time to Serve for new Hope College students, also in the fall, in addressing needs of the needy in the area.
A two-hour-long community-wide celebration follows the Chamber’s Community Impact Day at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, beginning at 4 PM.
