She was born in 1948 to Milton and Viola Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ronald Kolean and is survived by her children Kevin Kolean, Kathie (Matt) VanLiere; grandchildren, Skyler, Kaden, Adyson and Breya; brother Jim (Sandy) Fletcher; sister Sallie Box, as well as several nieces and nephews, and honorary daughter Yumiko Nakajima.
Sue graduated from West Ottawa high school in 1966 and went on to have a career in cosmetology which she loved until she found her true passion of helping others at the Alzheimer’s Association.
Sue had a passion for life. If she wasn’t spending time with children and grandchildren, she was enjoying weekly adventures with her sisters, enjoying time at her cabin up north, or spending time with friends. Sue loved to make others smile and loved her family and friends dearly.
A Celebration of Life service for Sue will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 6:30 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424. A time for visitation will be held prior to the service at 6:00 PM, and the family invites you to join them for a light meal and fellowship following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith Hospice or the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
