PRESS RELEASE (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Zeeland girl has a traffic ticket after a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Port Sheldon Street and 112th Avenue just before 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies learned that a 48-year-old Muskegon man, driving a Ford Focus headed east on Port Sheldon Street, collided with a Pontiac G5, with a 17-year-old Zeeland girl at the wheel.
The teen told police she stopped at the stop sign on 112th Avenue, then started a turn onto westbound Port Sheldon.
The Muskegon man went by ambulance to an area hospital with what Sheriff’s Sgt. Christie Wendt called non-life-threatening injuries. The Pontiac driver, and her passenger, a 15-year-old Holland boy, were not hurt, according to Wendt.
Police issued a ticket for failing to yield to oncoming traffic to the Zeeland teen driving the Pontiac.
