HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 20, 2024) – Although the looming 95th Tulip Time Festival opening of May 4 is just over the proverbial horizon, another annual tradition in Holland is gearing up for the start of its main season.
The second Holland Farmers Market Poster Design Contest is underway. Amateur and professional artists and designers, aged 16 and older, are encouraged to submit designs for consideration by May 15th, which is when twice-weekly sessions at the 8th Street Marketplace begin. The artwork should reflect the mission of the Farmers Market of connecting the community with high-quality local food that supports area farmers and vendors, as well as educational efforts in nutrition and local agricultural accessibility.
The winning design, to be determined by Downtown Holland officials, will be printed on posters and merchandise to promote the 2024 market season, with the designer earning a $500 cash prize, a gift card by the sponsoring Fris Supply Shop, and complementary merchandise adorning the design. The other finalists will be put into a “People’s Choice” contest for $100 in Market Bucks gift certificates, as well as a Fris gift card.
Taylor TeBos won the initial Holland Farmers Market poster contest last year.
