Our first road trip of the season was a fun one.
Sure, it’s a “Talk of the Town” program and not a “WHTC Morning News,” but since we don’t have a blog for ToT, we’re taking over this blog for today’s (Apr. 17) live broadcast from inside the DeZwaan Windmill at Windmill Island.
We did have the obligatory “technical problems” on site, with Microsoft deciding to take a Windows Update as we tried to get the Dell laptop going, so Dan had to do the first half hour while we waited … and waited … and waited. Thanks to DE for his help.
The video is from the Yankee fan in our midst – Stefan Vandenmolen – and it was the first time either of us had been inside of the windmill. It was great, especially when a rain squall came through right after we signed off around 11:30 AM.
A big thanks to Stefan & Hayden Baaker for their help on site, and Emily Van Staalduinen, Matt Helmus and Katelyn VerMerris who were gracious enough to stop by and chat with us. Matt and the windmill staff were great too with their cooperation.
It was a good test run ahead of our big live broadcast next Wednesday, Apr. 24th, when we are at the Gateway Spoon Restaurant (633 E. 24th St.) off of US-31. Join us from 9-11:30 AM, as we’ll chat with some of the Gateway Mission staff, along with Carey Koele and Brent Kerwhecker of the Koele Godfrey Investment Group, and Jason Latham of the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council.
Thanks!
