OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 11, 2024) – The Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission wants you … or rather, your voice.
Last week, the commission opened up a Strategic Plan Community Survey as part of an effort to draw up a long-range blueprint for its direction. The online canvassing, slated to run through April 10th, will help the agency in its next phase of developing the county’s extensive parks system ahead of a 0.33 parks millage renewal slated for 2026.
“The current strategic mission, goals, and objectives for the Parks Commission have helped guide us to successfully establish a parks system that is beloved by residents and visitors. Now we are excited to review our strategic direction and continue into the next phase of organizational growth.” – Parks Commission President Kelly Rice
The commission has retained Crowe LLP in the survey process, to go along with an advisory committee representing various stakeholder groups. A draft of the strategic plan is slated for a public presentation in June.
