Sydney Vis scored 20 points as the Flying Dutch clinched the MIAA regular season women’s basketball title outright with a 73-58 triumph in Angola over the host Trine Thunder. TJ McKenzie scored 20 points as the Flying Dutchmen defeated the visiting Alma Scots, 74-63.
Hope’s teams are home this coming Wednesday evening for a doubleheader at DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, with the Flying Dutch game against the Adrian Bulldogs at 5:30 PM on 99 7/1450 WHTC, and the Flying Dutchmen contest versus the Olivet Comets around 7:45 PM on The Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van.
Grand Valley State split a pair of games on Saturday afternoon in Kochville Township against host Saginaw Valley State. Rylie Bisballe’s 24 points helped the Lakers capture the women’s opener, 78-54. Tre Garrett tallied 21 points as the Cardinals won the men’s nightcap, 78-62. More road action awaits GVSU’s men and women this coming Thursday evening, when the Lakers battle the Parkside Rangers in Kenosha.
